Christmas has come and gone and we're now several weeks into 2026. 

Here in New Zealand it's supposed to be our summertime, I have to admit in our location at the top of the South Island it's quite warm. We have had some rain but a lot of strong winds. Today is sunny with no wind, perhaps summer has actually arrived.

However the North Island has been hit by rain, rain and more rain. A lot of flooding has occurred damaging a lot homes and businesses. This morning a landslip in Mount Manganui (beside Tauranga) has destroyed many caravans, tents and a toilet block on a camping site and they are still checking to ensure nobody is trapped in the wreckage.  Hopefully all got out safely.

I intended to release a new romance novel for Christmas, but due to medical issues I was unable to finish it in time. I'll work on it during the year and release it next Christmas.

As an alternative to Amazon I'm also releasing my books on Kobo and Kobo Plus. Kobo Plus is something like Kindle Unlimited, but you can download ebooks and audiobooks for the monthly fee, plus you get some free if you buy a Kobo reader. I bought a Kobo reader a few months before Christmas and I have virtually stacked all my favourite authors on the reader. It's in colour (the cover I mean) and I can also put my own books and friends books that I bought directly from the authors. Also for authors information, Kobo Plus does NOT mean no other retailers. You can do Plus and send the book to Amazon or wherever. My books are also available on Caishelbooks.com (don't forget to click on the currency at the top or bottom of the page to change it to your own country's money).

I'm  not releasing them on Amazon. They are apparently shifting everything around, mainly the way readers find books, so I thought I'd give them a miss this time.

Caishel, disguised as a male urchin, accepts a job as a page in the floating castle of Ardon. Ailan, the Sire she works for, immediately discovers his page is a woman, but keeps this knowledge to himself, despite his growing attraction to her. Caishel longs to tell Ailan the truth but confession could put her in danger. Circumstances eventually force her to reveal her true identity and, like a caterpillar evolving into a butterfly, Caishel marries Ailan. He inherits a dukedom and they move to Lan where danger appears to follow Ailan, but the spiritual Eos offer their help.

Russet and Gold - Elisette
Capet Sard helps farm girl Lise obtain a job as nursemaid in the floating Castle of Lan, and love blossoms between the noble and the servant. Sard is called home to Rak and shortly after his departure Lise discovers she is pregnant. She stows away on a ship to Rak but when she disembarks she gets lost in the desert. Rescued by the spiritual Eos, Lise finishes the journey on foot but Brenauf, the new Duke of Rak and an old adversary of Sard’s, captures her. The duke’s inability to run Rak causes many of his nobles to question whether he is the true heir. 
Miserable, pregnant and frightened for her baby's welfare, Lise can see no way out of her captivity. Sard and the Eos attempt to save Lise. Failure could mean disaster for Rak and the whole planet of Hejmen.
 
Ebony and Ivory - Tazia
Tazia is petrified of her first night with Duke Robard, her new husband by an arranged marriage, because her father’s mistress has told her alarming tales of husband's rights. Robard is patient with her but their union remains unconsummated. They learn to work together, but intimacy evades them. 
A strange illness begins to decimate the spiritual Eos, decimating their already small numbers. Tazia and Robard work together and put their personal problems aside while they help the Eos avoid extinction. 
The Eos discover recent visitors were not from the other known tribes and research points to a lost tribe in the Pator area. Tazia and Robard set out on a journey of discovery to find the lost ones. Without the Eos the planet will die and this will mean the end of humanity on Hejmen.
 
Emerald and Amber - Zaeyen
Zaeyen's intended marriage to a neighbouring duke’s son is meant to save her father's estate, but the groom is cruel and threatens his betrothed. Zaeyen believes if she finds the Eos, who disappeared many centuries ago, it will save the planet and there will be no need for her to marry. She goes in search of the spiritual Eos and on her way meets Kade, a hero of the common folk. Kade joins her in the search and they battle through thirst, hunger and capture to reach their goal. The planet of Hejmen is dying and only the Eos can revive it, but do the spirits still exist and if they do, will they be willing to help the humans?
